Today’s Special Guest
Antonio Arellano is a name familiar to many, especially if you're from Texas. Toño, as he's sometimes called, is a communications expert, activist, and political strategist who's worked with great media & political organizations like the Houston Chronicle, ABC News, the ACLU, and NextGen America. These days, he’s the new Communications Director for Indivisible, one of the biggest activist groups behind No Kings Day,. As an American immigrant, a long-time Texan, & an LGBTQIA activist with groups like Jolt, Antonio knows what it takes to rally people together, and get the message out. He'll talk with us today about the work Indivisible has done to prepare for No Kings Day, what we should all do tomorrow - and what you can do when the weekend is done to keep the momentum going.
Today’s The Politics Bar Semi-Regular
While you’re always welcome to join us from wherever you are, we’ve got an old friend up at the main bar tonight who you’ll also hear on the show:
David Ferguson is a humorist, journalist, activist, and musician with Astral Summer. David has contributed to The Guardian, Salon, NBC, and other outlets over the past 25 years. Originally, David was known as Thesaurus Rex, on a blog going all the way back to the early 2000s. These days, T-Rex is part of the Goth Ninjas, along with Jody, over at The Bob Cesca Show. As an out & proud gay man in Georgia, with great experience facing down anti-LGBTQIA bigots, David has some tips for all of us in the bar about how to proudly speak out - which will come in hand at the No Kings rallies this weekend, and going forward.
